Planet Should: Michelle Obama Most Admired Woman 2019

In a refreshing relief from the ongoing spats on national news, a new worldwide poll by YouGov has named former First Lady Michelle Obama Most Admired Woman of 2019.

This comes as no surprise, as she has always been classy and poised. Her grace, dignity, and style magnify and complement President Obama’s. As he says in a GMA interview, “Michelle grounds me.”

President Obama is also on the list, holding at second behind Bill Gates.

Oprah Winfrey came in second on the women’s list and last years’ Most Admired, Angelina Jolie was third. Queen Elizabeth II and Harry Potter alum Emma Watson round out the top five. Former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton placed in seventh, and current First Lady Melania Trump was nineteenth.

On a side note, ABC News reports Mrs. Obama’s memoir Becoming may end up being “the most successful memoir in history” with 10 million copies sold (Penguin Random House).

  1. This comes as no surprise to me at all.  Mrs Obama has always carried herself well and exudes class whenever she walks into a room.  Even though this article is not about politics, she is a political figure but I’m glad it didn’t mention any of the negative things going on in the world.  It’s short and concise, focusing on the woman herself who is a living icon and an example for little girls to follow.

    1. Ibrahim,

I have admired Mrs. Obama since the first time I saw her. I have a daughter and it is uplifting that this woman carried the pressures of being the first Black First Lady with such outstanding poise and grace. She and President Obama embodied the very essence of the dignity expected for the leaders of our country.

      I miss them so much.

      Thanks for stopping by,

  2. I’m not surprised the Former First Lady has come in at number 1. She is truly elegant, inspiring, and grounded. I’m so glad you’ve brought this to my attention and shared this information.  She is such a fabulous person and holds her own with such air and grace. We truly are blessed to have her as an inspiration to women and young girls as we can look up to her and learn from her as a positive role model for our children.

    1. Kat,

She is an inspiration to all of us female, and male.

I remember election night 2008. My kids wanted to stay up late to watch the returns with me. I let them until they fell asleep on the couch. We were watching history happen and as Black children, I wanted them to feel part of it. I cried when President Obama introduced Mrs. Obama.

The love and true affection they displayed to each other throughout their 8 years in the brightest spotlight possible never wavered. They are truly a couple to be admired.

      Thanks for stopping by,

  3. Your post is inersting because I really loved the two video on your website that discussed about Michelle Obama as the first in the list of admired woman, the video on your post are funny when watching them, she is supportive even to the present administration for Trump, I like her heart too.

    1. Am,

What I have always seen from Mrs. Obama is her dedication to family, not just her own, but those of America as well. I love that hse has continued her work since leaving the White House, even keeping her Let’s Move initiative going with that awesome dance routine to Uptown Funk.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂
